A-League review – Round 6

A-League Round 6 saw Adelaide United become clear leaders at the top of the table as they recorded their fourth win on the trot.

The Reds continued their brilliant early-season form with a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets on Saturday night which enabled them to go a game clear of Perth glory who suffered their first defeat of the term when they lost 1-0 at home to Gold Coast United.

In other results, Central Coast Mariners kicked the round off with a 1-0 home win over Melbourne Heart on Friday night, Wellington Phpenix defeated the struggling Sydney FC 2-1 at Westpac Stadium on Saturday evening and the Melbourne Victory ended the Brisbane Roar’s near-perfect start to the season with a 3-0 result at AAMI Park on Sunday.
