A-League review – Round 19 midweek matches

The five-week long Round 19 series of summer fixtures has finished, culminating in a 4-0 win to Melbourne Victory over the Wellington Phoenix.

The A-League decided to run Round 19 over a series of midweek matches beginning on December 16 where the Brisbane Roar defeated North Queensland Fury 2-0 and continued throughout the rest of December and most of January.

The second match was played between Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners on December 23 with the Sky Blues saluting 1-0 at home. That match was followed by the January 13 fixture between Gold Coast United and Newcastle Jets with the former winning 2-0, preceding the January 19 clash at Hindmarsh Stadium which Perth Glory won 3-2 over hosts Adelaide United.
