A-League preview 2010/11: Brisbane Roar

The word 'transition' has been used when talking about the Brisbane Roar ahead of the new A-League season.

With no less than 12 arrivals, Queensland's foundation club will need to get everything together in 2010/11 after struggling last term.

The coaching saga involving Frank Farina may have unsettled some players but the Roar actually came good after Ange Postecoglou took over so you cannot blame a change of manager for the poor showing.

But new faces always means that pre-season training is all about impressing the coaching staff so no doubt the Roar have been training hard and with some key ins such as midfielder Thomas Broich from Germany, Costa Rican attacker Jean Carlos Solorzano, and former A-League Goalkeeper of the Year Michael Theoklitos, Brisbane may improve on last season's second bottom placing.

But for me, too much of a changeover is not necessarily the means to getting good results and a lot of the expected first team players will take time to work out the A-League and I fear another low finish for the Roar.
