The Football Federation have won the battle for the Telstra Dome and next weekend's Grand Final will be held there as scheduled. The 2008/09 decider was set on the same date as an Australian Football League pre-season cup quarter final and it looked like it may be a battle to win the rights to the venue for Saturday February 28 but the AFL have moved the Richmond versus Collingwood match to Thursday night the 26th.

After the Melbourne Victory progressed straight through to the Grand Final after a semi-final win over Adelaide United, it was only fair that the game should be played at their home ground.
