Spain are becoming big exporters of talent.

"Football doesn't end in Madrid or Barcelona," said Carlos Cuellar upon signing for Rangers in the summer.

From the days in 1961 when Luis Suarez made his surprise move to Inter Milan, now no less than 82 players are playing outside of Spain in professional leagues across Europe.

"In Spain there was no culture of playing abroad," says Liverpool fullback Alvaro Arbeloa, "but the thinking is now changing."
