66' World Cup Winning GK Banks says Stoke gloveman Butland should stay at Stoke

Stoke City legend Gordon Banks has urged Jack Butland to stay put at the Britannia Stadium for the foreseeable future.

Butland missed the majority of the current Premier League campaign due to injury but nonetheless, the England international is said to be attracting the interest from a host of top clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool among others this summer.

World Cup winning England goalkeeper Gordon Banks is a big fan of Butland's abilities and the legend has urged the 24-year-old to snub the advances of bigger teams by staying put at Stoke City in order to continue his development as a player.

Banks told the Stoke Sentinel: "I really do think the best thing for Jack at his age is to stay here at Stoke.

"As a Stoke fan, obviously I'd love to see him stay anyway, but if he stays I'm sure it won't have any affect on his England career and he can also help us to have a better season."
