Chelsea striker Diego Costa is expected to sign for Atletico Madrid in the coming days.

Marca says on Monday the two clubs were negotiating a €60million (£54m) fee for the 28-year-old forward.

However, Atletico, who can't officially register anyone until January when their transfer ban is lifted, and Chelsea, have still yet to figure out how much will be paid up front and what sum will be paid in bonuses.

Chelsea softened their stance to negotiate following Costa's insistence that he would not return to the club until his future was sorted out.

The Spain international has not played for Chelsea since the FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal back at the end of May.
