Pound for pound (or Euro for Euro) Barcelona are far superior than Champions League final opponents Manchester United. According to a study by the consultancy firm, 'Frontier Economics', Barca's team are worth a staggering €454 million compared with Manchester United's value of €216.5 million.
The estimated data correspond to the value of the players at the start of the season. So in this sense, having just won another Liga title, as well as some players picking up several awards individually, the total value of Barca would be even greater now.
Lionel Messi is rated the most valuable on the pitch ahead of Wembley - at €140 million. But, again, this was deemed before he won another World Player of the Year gong.
For Manchester United, Wayne Rooney is the richest at €60 million.
