The date for the 2012 MLS SuperDraft has been set for January 12 in Kansas City.
A new-look draft will take place at the Kansas City Convention Center in conjunction with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention.
The 2012 version of the SuperDraft has been revised from three rounds to two with 38 selections overall and incoming franchise Montreal Impact holding the first choice.
The next eight picks go to the clubs that did not make it to the 2011 play-offs in reverse order of their regular season finishes and the following 10 picks will be determined by the order in which teams are eliminated in the play-offs combined with reverse order of regular season finish.
