2012 AFC Champions League draw announced
The draw for the 2012 Asian Football Confederations Champions League has taken place in Kuala Lumpur.
Eight groups of four teams will battle it out to be crowned Asian club football champions with the competition set to kick-off on Tuesday March 6, 2012.
A-League champions Brisbane Roar have drawn favourably in Group F alongside Ulsan Hyundai, Beijing Guoan and the winner of Japan’s Emperor’s Cup which is yet to be determined.
Runners-up Central Coast Mariners are in Group G with Korean FA Cup champions Seongnam Ilhwa who have Australian international Sasa Ognenovski in tow, as well as Josh Kennedy’s Nagoya Grampus and Chinese FA Cup winners Tianjin Teda whilst Adelaide United have drawn Group E with Japan’s Gamba Osaka, Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor and the winner of the play-off between third-placed K-League outfit Pohang Steelers and the Thai FA Cup champions.
