200 up for Lampard as Chelsea go third

Frank Lampard netted his 200th goal for Chelsea as he helped his beloved team defeat West Ham United 2-0 today.

The veteran midfielder, in his 595th Blues appearance, headed home in the 19th minute at Stamford Bridge to send the Southwest Londoners on their way to third place and he was thrilled with how things went at home against his former club.

"It is one of my best days," Lampard told the BBC as he moved within two goals of Bobby Tambling's club record of 202.

"Obviously, winning the Champions League and championships are the best, but personally getting 200 goals for the club, I never thought I would touch that so I am pleased to get it.

"Everyone keeps talking about the goalscoring record, I would rather people kept quiet. The important thing is trying to score goals to win games.

"We are in good form and everyone is at it. There is a good feeling around the place and we need to carry it on until the end of the season."

Eden Hazard, who supplied Lampard with the opener, added a second in the 50th minute as Chelsea replaced Tottenham in the top three.
