Arsenal are preparing a new approach for Fulham defender Brede Hangeland.

The Telegraph says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Fulham's Hangeland and, with Arsenal having recently recorded pre-tax profits of £35.2 million, he could certainly afford one major signing.

Wenger wants the Norway centre-back with Mikael Silvestre, William Gallas, Philippe Senderos and Sol Campbell all off contract in June.
