Arsenal now linked with Lille’s Landreau
Arsenal’s latest goalkeeper link is Lille gloveman Mickael Landreau.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been on the hunt for a new stopper for most of the summer and the newest name to be bandied around the Emirates Stadium is that of the 31-year old former Nantes and Paris Saint-Germain star.
Landreau is valued at around £6.5million which indicates it is very unlikely Wenger would go for him as he won’t even improve a bid of £2million for Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer.
Recent comments by Wenger suggests that he is happy to stick with his current keepers despite being linked with a handful of custodians during the current transfer window.
"We are where we are - we have four great keepers and it is important we give confidence to them for the next game," Wenger said.
"I do not rule it out, but at the moment I say I am not in a position to sign anybody. At the moment, it is all dead."
