Arsenal launch compo claim against Dutch FA over Van Persie injury

Arsenal are seeking compensation from the Dutch FA over Robin van Persie's ankle injury.

Arsenal are seeking compensation from the Dutch FA over Robin van Persie's ankle injury.

The Sunday Mirror says if they win, it could have the same ramifications for the world game as Jean-Marc Bosman’s case that revolutionised the transfer system.

Manager Arsene Wenger made it clear ahead of today’s match at Liverpool that Arsenal are determined to be remunerated for the injury suffered by Van Persie.

He was taken off playing for Holland against Italy in a friendly four weeks ago.

The Dutch have so far refused to pay anything.

Not only was the ankle injury wrongly diagnosed – “They said it was a small problem,” said Wenger.

But it is so bad the Dutch striker will most of the season.
