Arsenal boss Wenger: I need to add defensive signings
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Sun, 08/15/2010 - 08:30
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he's still searching for a new defensive signing.
He’s signed Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny and also wants goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and either Phil Jagielka of Everton or German World Cup star Per Mertesacker of Werder Bremen to strengthen his central defensive options.
Wenger, who signed a new three-year contract yesterday, admitted: “We are short at the back and need to add.
“If we manage to do that we are better-equipped. But now we have more experience.
“The average age of our players is 23 to 24. They are real men now and the league is more open. It is time for us to deliver.”
