Arsenal boss Wenger hints at Campbell deal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has intimated he wants Sol Campbell around next season.

The example Campbell showed in defeat at Tottenham impressed Wenger.

"I will have to sit down with Sol Campbell and I always did that because if he is on board, if he is focused and motivated, he is an important player here and he has shown that again," the Frenchman told arsenal.com.

"He is not only an important player and a good player but he is a winner. He was ready to die on Wednesday night to win the game and that is what you want from your squad.

"He has shown that again by example on Wednesday night. On and off the pitch he is a big influence - in the dressing room as well."
