Arsenal boss Wenger had scouts check on Newcastle's Taylor

Arsenal could make a late bid for Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.

The London Evening Standard says Taylor could be available for around £6m.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger sent a scout to assess the England Under-21 international in last week's Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday.
