Arsenal boss Wenger: Cup win proof we don't need Aquilani

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says last night's Cup win over Liverpool was proof they didn't need to buy Alberto Aquilani.

Before the 2-0 win, Wenger admitted he took a close look at Aquilani while he was still with Roma.

"We were not interested in Aquilani last year, we were the year before," said the Frenchman.

"Last year he didn't play a lot and we didn't feel that this year we needed a player in this position because we have so many good young players in midfield. It's always difficult to convince people that we don't need players but when you see them play tonight you can understand why. We see them everyday in training and we have so much quality with our young players that we are not especially out on the market."

"You are absolutely right Arsene he`s a BIG BIG flop..Remind me of Saha injury prone"

Nah...Saha, Nani and Berbatov are the biggest flops..ever...made by your manager..you are just a moronic Man U fan.

Aquilani played a bit part and is still not match fit..and this idiot manager comes boasting about how Arsenal don't need him, or anyone else for that matter. Wenger, be gracious you won, not bitter.

I used to think Arsene is one of those managers who makes a lot of sense in justifying things but am left wondring this time after this an thought childish remark. As far as every body know Aquilani was on the pitch for less than 13 minutes and in that time Senderos handled his goal bound shot and Arsenal were just lucky to have escaped with that. To me it sounds like he is envious of the lad and is just trying to ease his concience.
