Arsenal’s van Persie: We must be more efficient in front of goal

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie admits the team needs to be more ruthless in front of goal and take their chances better.

The Gunners have lost twice in the Premier League season, to both Manchester City and Manchester United, despite dominating large periods of the game and van Persie believes better finishing could have them in a much better position.

“While there were lots of good things that we did in winning four games, there were a few bad aspects after that and we need to find the right balance to win matches like these,” he said.

"When you see the matches against Manchester United and Man City, we had many chances and still lost.

"So we need to look in the mirror and try to do things better.

"But in terms of creating chances, it’s all good - the formation (4-3-3) really works for the team and I do feel that we could have been a bit luckier with a few things.

"We've seen shots hitting the bar or the post or just going wide and perhaps could have had a bit more luck with refereeing decisions as well."
