Angel confirms New York Red Bulls exit after playoffs defeat
Juan Pablo Angel has announced he's leaving New York Red Bulls.
After last night's playoff defeat to San Jose Earthquakes, the former Aston Villa confirmed his departure.
"I would've wanted to walk away with a championship, but it didn’t happen,'' Angel told the New York Post. "I will be always grateful (to Red Bull); they treated me really well right from the beginning. But that’s what it is; life goes on, and I will move on and wish everybody here all the best.
"I want to digest this first. It’s a hard one to take. Then I'll start exploring what I'm going to do, where I'm going to be, because as I said, I want to keep playing, and I will inform you as soon as I make that decision where I'm going to end up, whether that’s here (in MLS) or somewhere else.''
