Ancelotti insists Chelsea squad not over the hill

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has rubbished reports he feels his squad is ageing and needs a cleanout.

Ancelotti, ahead of our Barclays Premier League clash with Blackburn, quelled the stories with some frank speaking.

"I won a Champions League trophy with a player who was 39 years old," pointed out the Italian.

"When a player is 30 years old he is in the middle of his career, he has improved the physical acts but also the experience.

"When you have a team with the average age of 28 years old, it is a very good age, it is not a problem."
