Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has played down Michael Essien's row with the Ghana FA.
The Ghanaians demanded an explanation from Essien during the week after he went AWOL from international duty.
But Ancelotti said: "It is simple. He asked the manager of Ghana if he could avoid the game on Wednesday. We gave him a day of rest and it was no problem.
"I didn't speak with the Ghana manager. I spoke only with Essien."

I agree with u there yankee. Though I'm a Ghanaian, I never felt comfortable anytime Essien went down in our last Sunday's game against Mali. Even now that GH is drawn in a group with CDV, I wish only one of them qualify from the group, so that either Ess or Drog will be back early for Chelsea, especially Essien.
@YANKEE: IF YOU HATE INTERNATIONALS. DONT WATCH THE WORLD CUP NEXT YEAR OR EURO STUPID.
I hope Essien quits playing for Ghana....Lamps quits
England. These countries dont even pay their salaries.
