Aloisi urges returning players to help the A-League grow
Sydney FC striker John Aloisi hopes that his horror year in the A-League last season does not deter potential stars returning to Australia.
Aloisi became the Sky Blues’ marquee player for the 2008/09 A-League season but endured a tough run with injuries and poor form and was highly criticised by the media.
Now he hopes that his experience doe not put off plans for returning Australian players.
“I would say there's a bigger picture," Alosis said.
"The reason why they should come back is to help the A-League grow, to help the younger players improve and help the competition become even more professional than it already is.
"A lot of players I know did say 'I don't know if I want to go back and cop that stick' but I don't think what happened to me will happen again to be honest.
“I hope they think about the chance they have to help the growth of the game here.”
