Aloisi set to miss out on Melbourne Heart’s debut
The former Sydney FC star has been handled with baby gloves this pre-season after sustaining the injury in the finals last season and the Heart insisted they wanted to give him the best possible recovery ahead of the longest season in the A-League short history.
“We don't think he'll be across the line for Round 1," Heart football operations manager John Didulica said yesterday.
"That's never been the intention because with a 30-game campaign we need to be strategic with how we use the players.
"It's about peaking at the right time. Someone like John is not going to be pushed to be ready for Round 1. The target is to be back in full training next week and then it's a matter of how long it takes the lungs and the hamstring to respond to increased training."
