Allardyce crafty enough to replace Santa Cruz – Blackburn’s Robinson

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes manager Sam Allardyce is astute enough to bring in a suitable replacement if Roque Santa Cruz quits the club.

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes manager Sam Allardyce is astute enough to bring in a suitable replacement if Roque Santa Cruz quits the club.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of the Paraguayan this season and if he happens to leave Ewood Park, Robinson has faith in Allardyce’s transfer market skills.

"It's not for us to speculate about Roque," Robinson told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"It's a silly time when people are going here, there and everywhere.

"But one of the manager's qualities is in the transfer market.

"We're a club that's financially stable but we aren't able to throw millions of pounds left, right and centre.

"The manager's very good at knowing the type of player he wants and dealing in the market to get what he wants, so he'll do what's right for the team and the club.

"If we do lose Roque, I'm sure the manager will use the funds cleverly to improve the squad."
