Central Coast Mariners: 1 (Matt Simon '1)
North Queensland Fury: 1 (Daniel McBreen '76)

Venue: Bluetongue Stadium
Crowd: approx. 7,000

The Mariners got off to the perfect start in the opening 20 seconds when striker Matt Simon made the most of a defensive blunder before sliding it home past Paul Henderson at the near post.

The Fury dominated possession but the Mariners had the ball in their half much more and created the most chances in the first term.

The home side could not put the Fury away and paid for it with less than 15 minutes remaining when Robbie Fowler supplied a lovely ball from a corner which Daniel McBreen headed in at the front post to level the score.

Neither side were able to net a clincher and the Mariners and Fury had to settle for a share of the points.
