Agent claims McDonald staying at Celtic

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is wasting his time pursuing Celtic striker Scott McDonald, stated the players agent Lou Sticca.

Martinez failed with an offer for the Australian last week prior to the window closing on the summer's activities.

"My understanding was there was a tentative approach made to Celtic that was flatly rejected," Sticca told the Wigan Evening Post.

"As far as Scott is concerned, he has three more years on his contract with Celtic and all he wants is to win as much silverware as possible for the club he has supported from childhood.

"Some players never win anything and very few actually play for the club they supported from childhood. In Scott's case he is doing both."
