Adelaide United’s Galekovic keen on European move
Adelaide United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic has revealed he is keen on moving to Europe as interest in his services gains traction.
The 29-year old stopper, who has been voted the A-League Goalkeeper of the Year for the past two seasons, is attracting interest from clubs in Russia, Greece and Turkey and admits he would love a deal to come through.
“I don't know how much interest there is in Europe at the moment," Galekovic told the Courier Mail.
"I definitely want to head over and I want to push as hard as I can.
"The move overseas could help me get to the next World Cup.”
But for now, Galekovic is focused on getting back to full fitness with the Reds after some off-season surgery following the World Cup.
“I've got to perform now at club level and if I do that, I've got every chance of going to the Asian Cup," he said. "I had a bit of a (knee) cleanout after the World Cup and next week I'll get back into full training.
"From Monday, I should be right and hopefully I'll play the next friendly match against Perth Glory.”
