Adelaide signing Rudan plans on pleasing fans

Adelaide United recruit Mark Rduan hopes to have the same impact on Reds fans as he did with Sydney FC.

Adelaide United recruit Mark Rduan hopes to have the same impact on Reds fans as he did with Sydney FC.

The 33-year old central defender was a favourite of Sky Blues supporters when he lead the team to the inaugural A-League championship in 2005/06 and hopes to emulate that popularity with his new club.

"The reception I got in the last game was pretty big at Sydney. The relationship I had with the The Cove was something special, something I will never forget," Rudan said.

"There is a part of me that will always be in Sydney but the club has moved on and I have moved on. I am at a club that has been very successful in the past four years.

"I am someone who goes out and gives everything to the cause. Let's see how it works out with the Adelaide fans."

Ironically, the Reds face Sydney FC this weekend but Rudan will not take his place as his match fitness is not where it needs to be.

"My general fitness base is there but I don't want to jeopardise the players. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to that sort of thing. I need a few more sessions with the ball," added Rudan.
