Adelaide’s Rudan impressed with Sydney form

Adelaide United defender Mark Rudan says he has been quietly impressed with the recent form of his former club Sydney FC.

Adelaide United defender Mark Rudan says he has been quietly impressed with the recent form of his former club Sydney FC.

As the Reds take on the Sky Blues tonight, Rudan is set to take on the team he formerly captained for the very first time and has pinpointed them as the team to beat.

“Sydney is the team to beat right now, there’s no two ways about it. They’re leading the competition for a reason, they’re playing fantastic football…and it’s a big test for us tomorrow night,” Rudan said.

“I don’t think any extra words or incentive is needed for tomorrow in terms of our players, I think we know what we’re up against…and if there’s enough self belief in our team I think it should be a good game.”

Rudan insists that he will take on the game the same as he would playing against any other opposition.

“Obviously it’s my old club and that sort of stuff and I had a great three years there and a fantastic time, but it makes it no different, I’ll approach the game as I have since I made my debut for the club (Adelaide United),” Rudan added.
