Adebayor keen to face Arsenal at Emirates

Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor can’t wait for the chance to face Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor can’t wait for the chance to face Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

The big striker was the subject of fierce abuse from Gunners fans in City’s 4-2 win on Saturday but says he is not scared of the return clash.

"I can go and play at the Emirates for the return game, why not? I play for Manchester City and if they want me to go and play, I will play,” he said.

Adebayor also said he tried to apologise to Robin van Persie after he stomped on his head, an incident that could cost him three games on the sidelines, but said the Dutchman gave him no response.

"After the game I saw him and said sorry but he didn't even want to speak to me,” he added.

Adebayor also faces a further three games after his attempts to rile the Arsenal fans when he scored a goal and sprinted down the other end of the pitch to celebrate.
