The defensive crisis at AC Milan could lead to a short-term loan swap sending newly recruited Thiago Silva to Genoa.

AC Milan's quota of non-EU players will see recently recruited Brazilian Thiago Silva sitting on the sidelines until next season, but according to Tuttosport a new deal is being considered.

Thiago Silva would move to Genoa on loan for the rest of this season, with Genoa's Giuseppe Biava heading to Milan on a short-term loan until the end of this campaign.

The rossoneri are experiencing a major defensive problem at the moment with the likes of Alessandro Nesta, Daniele Bonera, Kakha Kaladze and Philippe Senderos all on the sidelines.
