Abramovich, Chelsea chiefs furious with FIFA over manner of ban

Chelsea powerbrokers are furious over their treatment by FIFA.

The Stamford Bridge outfit were left stunned after FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber handed the Blues a two window ban over their controversial capture of teenage Lens winger Gael Kakuta in 2007.

The Mirror says Chelsea had no knowledge of the imminent punishment until they received a bald fax from FIFA at 10am yesterday, with club insiders seething at what they described as a “travesty of justice”.

Owner Roman Abramovich is understood to be outraged by the penalty while senior executives admitted they were “shocked“ by what was deemed an “unbelievably harsh“ punishment, with internal fingers being pointed at recently-promoted sporting director Frank Arnesen.
