Aalesunds convinced Man Utd will make offer for Lindegaard
The Daily Mail says United are stepping up their interest in Denmark international goalkeeper Lindegaard after coach Eric Steele watched him for the fifth time on Sunday.
Steele, United's goalkeeping coach, travelled to Norway to watch Lindegaard play for Aalesunds against Stabaeck. They lost 2-1 but the 26-year-old still received praise for his performance.
Steele has also been to see Atletico Madrid's David de Gea in recent weeks but United are understood to have made preliminary contact with Aalesunds and the Norwegians are expecting a bid.
Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan have also been to watch Lindegaard but United would be his preferred choice with Edwin van der Sar considering retirement at the end of the season. However, United want to be sure as, despite his performances, he is relatively inexperienced having only kickstarted his career in Norway in the past year.
