Girona coach Michel frustrated with Alaves draw

Girona coach Michel admits their 2-2 draw with Alaves was intense on Friday.

The result was a blow to Girona's second place finish hopes.

Michel said: "It was an intense match, in the first half we did not dominate the transitions but even so I think we were better and we took the game where we wanted.

"In the second half we played fifteen very good minutes in which we should have having scored 1-3. When you don't close it out, the opponent in their own field pushes you. The result is fair because in the end both teams scored two goals, but I think the game was closer to our victory.

"We no longer depend on us, Barça winning their four games is second. Wait and see what happens. We had that advantage, we have not taken advantage of it. It makes you angry because it is in the last play, but there have been games that we have done it, it is football.

"The merits are worthless if you do not reflect it in the result."
