Ex-Spurs boss Redknapp demands Man City attacker Sterling remove tattoo

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has launched an extraordinary attack on Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling over a tattoo.

Sterling has a gun tattoo on his leg as a tribute to his dad, who died when he was a youngster.

But Redknapp has joined the outrage mob blasting the England international.

He told talkSPORT: "It's crazy really, isn't it? I know people say 'it's only a tattoo', but what has he got that on his leg for, really?

"We've got gun crime at the moment everywhere with kids, it's a major issue in this country at the moment, so to have that on his leg just doesn't make sense to me.

"He's a kid from a working class background and I'm sure he's a good lad, but in the area he comes from gun crime is a big problem at the moment, so you'll think if he's got any brains he'll get it off his leg as quickly as possible.

"We don't need kids like him in the public eye sort of advertising about guns. It's a bad move on his part."
